What we do
|
For executives who supervise women's and children's service line leaders, but come from a different background![]() If your service line
leader comes from a clinical area and yours is a business background, or if you
have had limited exposure to obstetrics or pediatrics before (or to your current level of
OB or peds), there are likely days you wish you had an interpreter.
In both obstetrics and children's services in particular, the language and nuances can be very different--and there are days when you probably wonder if what you are hearing is truly objective or, occasionally, even real. We have been there, and we can help with that. We speak all languages, from OB-Gyn and peds clinical, to medical and nursing, to finance to marketing and beyond. We are happy to provide a context, the translation and tactics and tips--as well as clear the fog. Whether it's business, planning, marketing or nursing, we speak it. Perhaps more importantly, we know what happens back in labor and delivery—very well. We completely understand what is really involved in the care of a very sick three year old, and her parents, and the parents of the child next to her. In particular, we understand the inadvertent but common isolation that can happen in these units, and the damage that isolation can cause—and how to assure it does not happen, or deal with it if it does happen. We have seen this many, many times before in these service lines which--compared to the bulk of a hospital's business in med-surg--are actually fairly esoteric. We translate among the many layers and disciplines all day, every day, creating common goals and alignment on measures of success--as well as support for great young leaders to get there. |
“Service line-specific weekly coaching from outside my system was invaluable. mag added context, focus, perspective and support.”
