Mary Anne L. Graf founded Health Care Innovations and has led the vast majority of the firm's more than 800 projects in the USA, and all of HCI's international projects. Graf injects focus, energy and excitement into client processes, allowing clients to position themselves positively and proactively. For two decades, Graf has analyzed issues facing the health care industry, and translated those into motivating presentations and actions leading to successful service positioning in women's and children's services.
With broadly-based research on trends impacting women's services--from the generational psychographics and the potential of the boomer generation, to multi-channel marketing to service line downstream financial analysis--Graf provides a wealth of information and practical experience in contemporary women's and children's services trends and positioning.

Why Women's Services?
An article in the 2005 Gallup Management Journal on marketing to affluent women noted that women control $5 trillion in U.S. business and consumer spending and influence some 80 percent of all such spending nationally. This parallels hundred of studies in US health care, where women have been found to control between 60 and 90 percent of family health decision-making. In health care, women are the gateway to the family, and women's services are the gateway to your organization. Additionallly, boomer women are the largest untapped donor source in the US.
Whether you are revitalizing your obstetrical or neonatal services, developing new ways to attract the 36 million boomer women who will drive health care for the next three decades, or designing enhanced children's services or services for contemporary seniors, dynamic women's services are a critical key to long-term success of health systems.
And, according to MaleHealthCenter.com, one of the most successful men's health centers in the US, "The way to a man's health is through a woman. Women become involved in men's health for three reasons: they are used to making the healthcare decisions in their families, they tend to know the most about health and the healthcare system, and men's health affects their own health, sexual pleasure and way of life."

Context, Relationship and a Sense of Humor
Graf's consulting style fosters relationships...with you, your staff and providers, and the women you serve. Without internal buy-in, no solution will be successful in the long run. The HCI consulting process recognizes this and takes the time and initiative to create that buy-in on the front end.
And HCI clients say perhaps the two most valuable characteristics Graf brings may be a sense of humor and the ability to normalize whatever is facing you. No matter what's happening, we have probably seen it before. You are not alone, and we can have some fun doing this. We bring balance, perspective and humor to every project. We'll find it on yours as well.
We want to help you make positive, sustainable change. To do that, we have to be effective with your governing bodies, your administration, your executive team, your clinicians... everyone who plays a decision-making role about your services, long after we leave.
If you're looking for someone to sweep in and take names, you're on the wrong website. We have a highly participative process, during which we partner with you to develop multiple client-specific options you can tailor to your particular community and organizational needs.
From long experience, we know every nook and cranny that might hold a margin or mission key to the contribution of women's services in your organization, and how to leverage it so that you can be successful.
